9 months
Kate is now approaching 9 months and she is now all over the place. She is crawling much better now. She looks around for things that interest her and then crawls over to that particular object and usually puts it in her mouth. Not only is she getting better and better at crawling she is standing up and holding herself up too. I remember everyone telling me enjoy the days when your baby does not crawl because life gets more difficult from there and here we are. We haven’t baby-proofed everything which is something that will take forever if we were to do everything right. Tracy and I are full-time working parents so it’s difficult to get everything done (and we have been doing chores solid for the past three weekends). I’m hoping to have a couple designated play areas that are completely baby safe and go from there. Kate does love cords which is a bummer since there are many of those around the house. I’ve tried to teach her “no” and she seems to understand it. She currently has two teeth both bottom-front teeth. Her ratios are about the same as last time: 25th percentile height, 25th percentile head size and 50th percentile in weight. This last month she got ringworm on several places on her upper body and yeast infections on her chest from teething/drooling but she’s completely healed from those now. Every weekday morning we go on our morning walks with the dogs and with Kate in the jogger which Kate really loves. Her favorite things right now: puffs, swimming, standing holding onto something, daddy’s face, puffs, foam bath toys, imitating sounds daddy makes, mommy’s necklace, Sesame Street, Dragon Tales, reading books and more puffs.
